Assistant Director (Fall 2026) & Director (Spring 2027), Raleigh Area

This Assistant Director role is intended to prepare the successful candidate this fall to transition into the full Choir Director role for a new location in the Raleigh area starting in February 2027. The Raleigh Choir began in the fall of 2026. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced director to bring a second Raleigh-area choir to life and working as Assistant Director to the current Raleigh choir will be a big part of the training.

Assistant Director, Seattle & Future Director, Bellevue

This Assistant Director role is intended to prepare the successful candidate this fall to transition into the full Choir Director role for a new location in Bellevue starting in February 2027. The Seattle Capitol Hill Choir began in the fall of 2025. It has upwards of 80 members as of fall 2026. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced director to bring the Bellevue choir to life and working as Assistant Director to the current Seattle choir will be a big part of the training.

Director, Spokane, WA

We’re launching a new choir in Spokane and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced director to bring it to life.

Director, Port Falls or Coeur d'Alene, ID

We’re launching a new choir in the Port Falls-Coeur d’Alene area and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced director to bring it to life.

Voices Rock is always searching for fantastic directors who are the perfect combination of energetic, smart, dedicated and personable.

Are you a great singer, recent music school grad, mid-career professional (who sings passionately in the shower) or retiree wanting to re-engage with music? We are seeking choir directors of all stripes to lead choirs throughout Colorado – and beyond!

You will be right at home with a choir of your own, a chance to highlight your inner rock star, an opportunity to make a real impact on your community through your greatest passion: music.

Compensation based on experience and bonuses based on the number of members in your choir. You will train with our Founder and Artistic Director, Jill Teas.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong vocal skills
  • Piano skills (ability to play individual voice parts while singing) strongly desired
  • Passion for music, singing, and community-building
  • Strong music reading skills
  • Willingness – nay, eagerness! – to direct a choir of singers who may have little to no musical experience and who may not read music
  • Well-versed in rock, pop and musical theater styles
  • Bachelor of Music or Music Education degree preferred
  • Willingness to recruit members
  • Previous experience directing a choir is a huge plus
  • Availability for 3 hours a week, with evening flexibility in the 1-2 weeks leading up to a performance. Some extra hours may be required for prep, pre-concert rehearsal, and post-concert FUN!
