Voices Rock Boulder

Rehearsal Location: East & Co. (2100 Central Ave, Boulder, CO 80301)
Sister Choir: Voices Rock Boulder will be the sister choir to Voices Rock Louisville, which started in 2025. These two choirs will come together for a combined show at the end of the session. Stop by Louisville rehearsals on Thursday nights whenever you like!
Rehearsal Schedule: Mondays, 6:30-7:45 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Fall 2026 dates: August 31, September 14, September 21, September 28, October 5, October 12, October 19, October 26, November 2, November 9*
No rehearsal on Labor Day. All rehearsals are 6:30-7:45 p.m. except for September 21 and October 19, which are “sectionals” where you come for one hour with everyone who sings the same part (more details to come on that when we get started!).
*During the week of the show (November 9), Boulder and Louisville will likely rehearse together. Stay tuned for more information on that special week.
Show: VR Boulder and VR Louisville will combine for a show. Exact dress rehearsal and show schedule TBA!

Get to Know Your Director: Zach Kester
Zach Kester’s musical journey has spanned the globe, featuring impactful chapters teaching and directing in both India and South Korea. Over the course of his career, he has written and composed over 12 original musicals, combining a love for storytelling with intricate vocal arrangements.
This deep background in composing and arranging makes him uniquely equipped to lead a vocal ensemble. He knows exactly how to break down complex harmonies and teach them in a way that is accessible and engaging for singers of all levels. He believes rehearsals should be fun and participatory, guaranteeing that the process of making music is just as joyous as the final performance.
When he is not at the piano or guiding a choir, you can usually find him scoring new pieces, producing tracks, or running live audio for local productions. He is passionate about building collaborative musical communities and is excited to start creating with Voices Rock.

Join us for rehearsal at East & Co, an incredible cool new spot for coffee, drinks, a meal and more! We’ll rehearse in their meeting space, but we love to gather before or after rehearsal at the bar!
