Reasons to join Voices Rock Englewood:

  • Singing pop and rock hits you know and love in a choral setting is good for the mind, body and soul
  • Make new friends in your community (this is more than a choir — at Voices Rock we value social time and getting to know each other outside of rehearsal)
  • As part of the inaugural choir you will help create the culture and experience that will make VR Englewood unique
  • You’ll love the music. While we never reveal it before the first rehearsal, just know it’s a selection of some of the best songs from the VR music library!
  • This first session is a great deal!
At Voices Rock, we believe music is for everyone. That’s why we welcome people of all abilities, ages and experiences, and we don’t do auditions. Whether you’re a professionally trained singer or too shy for karaoke, you will love singing with us!

Still on the fence? Come to our first rehearsal on April 30 before you register and see what we’re all about!

Get to Know Your Director: Laura Masko Gibson

Laura Masko Gibson is an educator and musician who has been steeped in eclectic music influences her whole life.  Her first concert was at age five at The Arvada Center singing as the fifth wheel in her dad’s barbershop quartet. Laura is the founder of the all-women band Mud & Marrow, which currently plays original alt-folk music all over town, as well as the neo-soul band Not A Luxury, where she co-writes all the music with her brother. She has also been drumming and dancing at Cleo Parker Robinson with master drummer Koffi Toudji since 2009.

Laura has directed over 30 middle school theatre productions and she is also mom to two rambunctious kids in Englewood.

Laura believes that everyone can and should sing. Music is for everyone–it is our birthright, and we all deserve to feel what it’s like to be a part of a group lifting up our voices. Laura is thrilled and humbled to be directing the Englewood choir for Voices Rock!
