RALEIGH, NC, June 1, 2026 — Beloved Denver-based community rock choir Voices Rock is heading to Raleigh after a year of expansion across Colorado and the Pacific Northwest. Rehearsals will kick off on September 14, 2026 at Transfer Co. Food Hall in the historic Carolina Coach Garage & Shops. Interested singers can sign up to be notified when registration opens.
A woman-owned and -operated company, Voices Rock has been dedicated to serving its local communities and uniting people through song since 2015. True to its motto “come for the music, stay for the community,” Voices Rock is a non-audition group that welcomes adults of all ages, abilities, and musical backgrounds—including none—to come together and rehearse familiar pop and rock hits over 10-week sessions, culminating in a final performance backed by a live band.
“After a decade of watching Voices Rock transform lives out west, bringing this community to the East Coast is a milestone we’ve been so excited about,” said Jill Teas, Voices Rock founder and artistic director. “No auditions, no experience required—just show up, sing music you love, and leave with people you’ll want to see again next week. That’s what Voices Rock is all about, and we can’t wait to welcome our new community in Raleigh.”
The Raleigh choir will be directed by renowned choral composer and arranger Andy Beck. “Raleigh has such a vibrant arts scene, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring Voices Rock to the East Coast for the first time,” said Beck. “This is about so much more than music—it’s about building a community where anyone, regardless of background or experience, can find their voice and belong to something truly special.”
Beck is Director of Choral Publications at Alfred Music and a prolific composer/arranger with over 450 pieces in print, including highly regarded method books on choral sight-singing and vocal technique. He brings extensive experience as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician, having served as a commissioned composer and honor choir conductor for all-state groups throughout the country. A fine tenor himself, Andy holds degrees in Music Education from Ithaca College and Northwest Missouri State University.
